Baltimore Killer Queen is moving!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 29, 2019 at 11:32:24 AM

It's true. There's a new Arcade Bar/Restaurant in town and it's officially opening up this week. Baltimore Killer Queen is changing locations to this new venue. We'll be doing our weekly tapping at the North Ave Market starting October 31st, 2019.

That's this Thursday, Halloween, Arcade Party. They're throwing a pretty cool "Stranger Things" themed party at the arcade, with drinks, music, food, and lots of games. Then, starting in November, we'll be playing Killer Queen there every Wednesday and Saturday for the foreseeable future.

We're moving from Holy Frijoles in Hampden, the great pnball/mexican restauran bar that's hosted us the last year and a half. A big thanks to them for hosting us twice a week since we started.

From our 'scene-mom' Clarkson, "Holy Frijoles has been a bastion for the incredible community we've fostered over the last year and a half. From their equally die-hard pinball community, to their chill and welcoming staff, to their $1 tacos that I've likely eaten more than a thousand of, to their incredible owner, Geoffrey Danek; I've never been more thankful to have a safe and entertaining space to call home every week."

We look forward to seeing you at Holy Frijoles tonight and tomorrow for our goodbyes as our last two nights in Hampden, then Thursday at North Ave Market for the Halloween party, and then every Saturday and Wednesday thereafter for regular twice-weekly Killer Queen gaming.

Thanks again to you all who helped start this community, and o those who've continued on regular discussions and plan making in our Facebook group.

Our beautiful little scene started nearly one year ago. We’ve grown, made new friends, and bonded over a fantastic arcade game that has led to some amazing experiences. Join us on March 22nd to celebrate the one year anniversary of Baltimore Killer Queen. The cabinets will be on free play all night, so it’s the perfect time to bring your friends out and show them what you’ve been up to all year.

The Killer Queen Documentary
over 5 years ago – Wed, Dec 05, 2018 at 01:31:43 PM

Baltimore Killer Queen has been thriving!

So much so, that a number of players in our community have traveled to visit players from other cities. That's right! Other cities just like us! Who woulda thunk.

One of Baltimore's KQ community organizers, Clarkson, has been floored by the amazing people he's met all throughout the country. Passionate players from New York, Charlotte, Portland, Chicago, and other amazing cities have made lifelong friendships through Killer Queen. Because of the rich history of the players and their communities, Clarkson has embarked on a journey to create a Killer Queen Documentary dedicated to telling their stories.

The Killer Queen Documentary will be a seven-part series showcasing players from the six most dedicated cities as they travel to tournaments and compete to be crowned the winner of Bumblebash, the national Killer Queen championship. Clarkson is running a campaign to help fund the creation of this documentary. You can find the campaign at www.thekillerqueendocumentary.com in order to claim some sweet merch and help support a budding creator.

Everyone who supported Baltimore Killer Queen has been invaluable, and I'm certain you'll be amazed by what else our community can create. As a reminder, we play every Tuesday and Wednesday at Holy Frijoles in Hampden. Come on by and play a few games. Thanks so much and we'll you on the cabs!

Hopefully you've heard by now, but if not, tonight's the night for some serious KQ action. This Wednesday, and every Wednesday until your jar of honey expires, we'll be playing Killer Queen at Holy Frijoles and streaming it live on Twitch. This allows us to provide live interactive commentary for those folks who can't make it our, who live in other cities, or who want to watch recorded games to hone their skills. Watch live at twitch.tv/baltimorekillerqueen and listen to Marty and Jonathan from the We Have to Ask podcast.

We've also got the screen in and mounted, thanks to you!

We've got some t-shirts for sale, plus will be bringing along those rewards for the campaign backers who told us they'd prefer to pick up their swag in person at Holy Frijoles.

See you at 7!
