No Salsa on the Cabs. Hampden Venue Confirmed!
about 6 years ago – Sun, Feb 25, 2018 at 03:18:03 PM

The buzz you may have heard over the weekend is true. Baltimore has found a venue for our Killer Queen cabinets! We hope you like margaritas and tacos with your berries because you'll be spending a lot of time at Holy Frijoles, the best Mexican restaurant in Hampden.

Holy Frijoles in Hampden is getting Killer Queen!

Already host to a plethora of classic pinball machines, Holy Frijoles will be making room for Killer Queen in its arcade room. We found this restaurant/bar to be the perfect location for our hive given its easy street parking, central location, bar, the laid-back atmosphere, and the Taco Tuesdays.
Holy Frijoles already hosts over a dozen pinball machines.

Speaking of Tuesdays, clear out your calendar that day each week because we'll be hosting our Casual Play night every Tuesday of the year. Come on by to meet the players that make up the excellent Baltimore Killer Queen community as we invite anyone and everyone to a weekly night of revelry and games. We'll play some on weekends too, but Tuesday is the night to be there. Players of all skill levels are welcome to Tuesday Casual Play nights as the focus is on building the community and welcoming players to the wonder that is Killer Queen.

Holy Frijoles has also been receptive to hosting tournaments and making the game as spectator-friendly as possible. Our focus is on giving back to the Killer Queen community, and as mentioned before, we want to provide entertainment for everyone involved. Your continued support will lead to a wall mounted spectator's TV, and streaming setup for tournaments and games. This is a community effort and we're immensely thankful for everything you all have provided thus far. We were so excited to share the venue announcement with you all and I'm sure you're just as excited as us to start playing. Though, a quick share of this project would do wonders. Spreading the word to friends and interested communities would go a long way to helping us reach our goal.

Thanks!

Time to Swarm.... We're 66% to the goal with 5 days left!

Hey Baltimore Killer Queen backers! There’s only 5 days left on this project and we’re nearing the end of the time we have left to reach our goal of acquiring all of the equipment needed for an awesome Killer Queen experience at Holy Frijoles in Hampden. For this setup to be complete, it includes streaming equipment, a wall mounted television for spectators, and the funding needed to cultivate our community and provide entertainment to gamers both near and far.

What’s most important right now is for our project to be shared with everyone that wants to see our community take off with a great start. Please take a moment to share this Kickstarter with gamers, friends, and anyone else that would want another Killer Queen cabinet in our amazing city. The reason why this game is so amazing is because of the community that surrounds it. And without you all, we wouldn’t see nearly as much success on opening day.

Additionally, we’re making Happy Hour and Tournament sponsorships available to businesses or individuals that want to provide an excellent experience while getting some notoriety at the same time. Not only is it important that this project be shared with other players, but figureheads would benefit from our campaign as well. We’ve already seen one Happy Hour and one Tournament sponsorship so far! We’re immensely thankful to those backers, but there’s still room for more.

New Reward Tier Added!
New Reward Tier Added!

We’ve gotten some feedback from individuals interested in picking a Baltimore Killer Queen t-shirt up locally as opposed to paying for the additional bracelet and. That’s why we’re making another backer level for Baltimore-based folks.  We're also planning on making it red/maroon instead of yellow. If you opt back to Beemore Bee reward tier, you’ll be able to pick up your t-shirt at Holy Frijoles during one of our Casual Play nights.

Thanks, and lets make this happen!

Hey! We're past $1000 of pledges. Thanks so much.

Happy Valentines day!

100 members, 33% funded, and big news coming this week!

Woah, just look at those milestones.

Our Facebook group just crossed into triple-digits, and the word is spreading! The Facebook group is going to become our central place for Baltimore Killer Queen discssion, meetup planning, gaming tips, tournaments and more. To be in the know, make sure you're following along in the discussion, join in on the fun over in the Killer Queen - Baltimore group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/killerqueenbaltimore/ and tell your friends.

Our campaign here on Kickstarter  is now one third funded, and we still have over 16 days left. We know once spring-time comes around all y'all are going to want a t-shirt, so now's the time to get those orders in. We're playing with the idea of a maroon/red shirt instead of the gold/yellow one. We're going to be using the Kickstarter campaign funds to get cool things for the community, like a spectator's TV, wall mount, a streaming PC, webcams, and more. We're really using these funds to give back to the Baltimore Killer Queen community and are excited to do so.  An extra share to raise awareness will really help us out.

We're also thrilled to announce that our first Happy Hour sponsor pledge has been made. Thanks Jonathan Monroe!

Finally, we've got and extra-special venue announcement we're super excited to tell you about, so stay tuned for that announcement in the next 48 hours.
